Guest artist workshop: Riika Lyra

Riikka Lyra is a Finnish dancer and artist who lives in Malmö. She has two degrees in contemporary dance and a background in Hip-hop. Her practice is a mixture of floor work, fall and recovery, suspension and somatic movement practices deeply embedded in improvisation and the use of imagination. She highlights movement that speaks, valuing explosive movement and feeling over high threshold techniques. 

In Riikka's workshop, we will explore traversing through space together, finding ways up and down the floor through set-material and improvisation. We will follow our heads, spines, focused movement with intention!  Open to all levels.

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can freely move in and be able to do floorwork. Knee pads are optional.
